SURROUNDED BY EVERYTHING OR NOTHING

There’s a lot to do in the Hamptons. From outdoor recreation and natural adventures to cultural events and shopping, it can be hard to keep track. So we put together a list of activities you can enjoy, most close to our location. Of course, if you prefer to stay hunkered down in your room with a book, you can do that too.

›FISHING

We're surrounded by water so naturally the Hamptons are a great place to fish. Try your luck with surfcasting for strippers or blue fish on a local beach. Or, if you're feeling more adventurous, charter a boat and head out for big game like tuna and shark.

›SURFING

Some of the best surfing on the east coast happens in the Hamptons and Montauk. Select from beach breaks with sand bottoms, jetties, and point breaks over rocky reefs. If you're a beginner and would like help, there are instructors and surf camps nearby. Ask us for details.

›GOLF

The enchanting landscape of the east end provides the perfect terraine for spectacular golf courses — private and public. What's more, there are driving ranges and pros available to help you work on your game. If you like to spend time on the links, staying with us makes perfect sense.

›BOATING & SAILING

Head in any direction and it won't be long before you hit water. So it makes sense that boatiing and sailing are a big part of Hamptons' culture. If you're interested, there are a number of charters you can join. Or rent a boat at a nearby marina and head out on your own.

›HIKING

The Hamptons and North Fork are dotted with nature preserves and parks that are ideal for hiking. Many have marked, well mainstained trails and a diverse mix of landscapes and animal species to enjoy. Some paths spill out onto deserted beachs that make the effort more rewarding.

›BIKING

Some of the same wooded trails people hike are also ideal for mountain biking. Bombing down single track with pine trees flying by is always an adrenaline rush. If something more calming is your thing, crusing around nearby historic streets lined with stunning homes is fun too. Bring your own or rent from a bike shop.

›TENNIS

Tennis is very popular in the area. However, while many homes have courts, and there are several tennis clubs, public facilities are a little limited. You could find an opening on a local high school court or reserve time at a nearby facility with programs and lessons.
OPTIONS: RED CREEK PARK / SPORTIME / SAG HARBOR PARK

›PADDLE BOARDING

Paddle boarding is a great workout and an awesome way to explore the local shoreline. Many local surf shops offer paddle boards for rent, or provide group lessons and tours. If you have your own gear, there are plenty of places to launch near The Hampton Maid.
